What is the main purpose of dry-type transformers?

Dry type transformer is an electrical equipment that does not rely on insulation oil cooling. It dissipates heat through air or gas and uses solid insulation materials such as epoxy resin. The core principle is electromagnetic induction: after the high voltage coil is energized, an alternating magnetic field is generated in the iron core, which in turn induces voltage in the low voltage coil to achieve electrical energy transmission. The main structure includes windings, iron cores, cooling fans, and shock absorbers.
Core Features
Safety and Environmental Protection: Oil free design eliminates the risk of oil leakage, fire and explosion prevention, suitable for enclosed spaces such as hospitals and office buildings.
Cooling method: Natural air cooling (AN) or forced air cooling (AF), the latter can increase capacity by 50%.
Overload capacity: Short term overload performance is better than oil immersed, but long-term operation requires maintaining rated load.
